PUBLIC OFFICIAL:
Elected to the Village Council in 2019, Jessica currently serves as Commissioner of Public Property. She has been resolute in her advocacy for transparency and open communication in our local government. She strives to keep sustainability at the forefront of the decision-making process. Jessica tackles short and long-term issues with a consistent approach: She does her research, relies on the professional knowledge of village staff, listens to fellow council members and welcomes ideas and feedback from the community. |
PRIVATE RESIDENT:
Jessica was a long-time visitor to Forest Park before she and her husband bought their home. They love the history and charm of the village along with the strong sense of community. She is a League of Women Voters member and serves on their environmental committee. She is also a member of the Historical Society and won “Most Historic” scarecrow in the 2021 Scarecrows on Parade. Jessica enjoys volunteering at local events, including the No Gloves Softball Tournament and RibFest and loves all of the events that happen throughout the year. The Garden Walk is one of her favorites and she had a blast helping her husband and friends with their "Garage Galleries" booth last year. |
PROFESSIONAL LIFE:
Jessica Voogd works as a buyer and set decorator on TV shows, commercials, and movies. She is a proud union member of the Motion Picture Studio Mechanics Local 476 and has been working in film production for 18 years. She moved to Chicago to study photography at Columbia College Chicago and earned her BA. Always a civic minded person, Jessica has donated her time photographing events for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, MS Walk for a Cure, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and for various film community events. |
